System96 Dichroic

The brilliant colours of dichroic glass are created by multiple micro-layers of metal oxides deposited on the glass surface during production. The process was first developed by NASA for use in satellite mirrors!

Dichroic glass can be fused with other glass in kiln firings and certain wavelengths of light will either pass through or be reflected, causing an array of colour to be visible. The glass looks different depending upon the lighting and from which angle it is being viewed. Individual results can never be exactly reproduced and each piece of fused dichroic glass is unique.

These dichroics have a COE of 96 and are therefore compatible only with other System 96 glasses.
